Salem, N.H. (Jan, 20 2015) – Xavier Vargas (Plaistow, NH) and Crowsneck Boutin (Portland, ME) will battle for the heavyweight division belt on Combat Zone's all-amateur card featuring three title fights on January 30th at Rockingham Park.

Vargas (3-2), who carries the banner of Spero’s MMA, is coming back from a year-long hiatus following a tough split decision loss to Javier Velasquez in CZ 47. He had fought at 200-220 pounds earlier in his career, but moved up to the 265-pound heavyweight limit to fight Velasquez in January 2014. Prior to that defeat, Vargas only needed 14 seconds to notch a TKO over John Gardner at “Coliseum to the Cage 3” in December 2013.

Boutin (6-6), who fights for Choi’s Institute, ended his 2014 campaign with a first round TKO victory over Ramone Saintville at “Fight Night MMA 14” in a 200-pound catchweight bout. After starting his career 0-2 and eventually improving to 3-6, Boutin is on a current three-fight winning streak.

The title fight marks Boutin’s return to the CZ cage, where he was submitted by Paul Gaffney in the promotion’s 44th event.

The other title fights on the CZ 52 night are Jake Pilla’s featherweight belt defense against Danny Abad, and JT Harold vs. Nick Alley in the welterweight division.
