Mike Scapicchio looks to grab the vacant bantamweight title Friday Night at Rockingham Park.
SALEM, NH (April 22, 2015) - Two championship belts will be up for grabs when Combat Zone MMA returns to the Sports Club at Rockingham Park on Friday, April 24 with the 10-fight "No Way Out" card.
For the first time in its 53-event history, Combat Zone will incorporate kickboxing with amateur and professional MMA action on the card and there will be four kickboxing matches to the start off the night's thrilling action.
“Combat Zone is evolving and we’re excited about it,” said Calvin Kattar, who with his brother Jamison Kattar, co-owns the longest running mixed martial arts promotion in New England. “Kickboxing is exciting and it’s something people want to see. Its appeal is growing, and we’re going to be part of that.”
The evenly-matched and competitive card also features two amateur MMA bouts pitting two pair of first time female fighters. Lisa Dellarusso from Professional Martial Arts Academy (PMA) in Derry NH takes on Hannah Murello representing Team Triumph in Nashua, NH at 125 pounds and Kerri Kenneson from Team Link Hooksett and Concord, NH steps into the cage with Jeannette Pomales from Sityodtong in Somerville, MA for at match at 130 pounds.
The main event will be the MMA lightweight amateur title fight between Team Triumph's Ryan DiBartolemeo (3-3) and Lloyd Fernandes (3-1) from PMA and Derry, and the co-main event is the flyweight amateur championship between undefeated Mike “The Animal” Scappicchio (3-0) representing Spero's MMA in Plaistow, NH and Carl Langston (7-5), who is fighting out of Young's MMA in Windham, ME.
DiBartolemeo is undefeated since switching to Team Triumph before his last two fights and Fernandes puts his undefeated three-fight win streak at The Rock in Combat Zone events on the line.
The best amateur fighter of the night will be rewarded with a trophy from Chang's Tae Kwan Do America.
Doors open at 6:30 PM and the first fight goes off at 8:00 PM. Tickets are $40, $50, $75, $90 and $120 and parking at the racetrack is free. To purchase tickets or for more information, visitwww.czmma.com or call co-promoter Jamison Kattar at 978-361-6772.
